Colville, Washington is more than just the name of a city. It is often used to describe the lands and communities that developed around the Columbia River. The area is also known as North Columbia because of this River Connection. The City of Colville is the commerce focal point, and County seat of the area. Its name is taken from the man who ran the famed, London based, Hudsons Bay Company, Andrew Colvile, in recognition of the Salmon Trade, the industry source that birthed the economy of the area.
